Tyee Takedown Salmon Shootout — Participant Waiver, Release of Liability & Indemnity Agreement

By registering for the Tyee Takedown Salmon Shootout, I voluntarily agree to the following terms on behalf of myself and all listed team members:
1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation involves inherent risks including boating accidents, capsizing, drowning, adverse weather, equipment failure, hypothermia, and other hazards of open-water fishing on Lake Ontario. These risks may result in serious bodily injury, permanent disability, or death, and I voluntarily assume all such risks.
2. Release of Liability
I hereby release and hold harmless Tyee Nation, its organizers, directors, officers, volunteers, sponsors, and representatives from any and all claims, damages, or expenses arising out of my participation in the Tournament, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
3. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims brought by any third party arising from my participation, including the actions of my team members or guests aboard my vessel.
4. Boat Captain Responsibility
The registered team captain assumes full responsibility for the safety of all persons aboard. The captain must ensure the vessel is seaworthy, equipped with all Transport Canada required safety equipment, and that all boating and fishing regulations are followed.
5. Compliance with Rules
I agree to abide by all Tournament rules, Ontario fishing regulations, Transport Canada requirements, and Tournament officials directions. Failure to comply may result in disqualification without refund.
6. Medical Authorization
In the event of injury or medical emergency, I authorize Tournament officials and emergency personnel to arrange medical treatment. I accept full financial responsibility for any medical costs incurred.
7. Media & Image Release
I grant Tyee Nation permission to use my name, likeness, and photographs or video taken during the Tournament for promotional and social media purposes without compensation.
8. Weather & Cancellation
The Tournament may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled due to unsafe weather or circumstances beyond the organizer's control. Refund decisions are at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director.
9. No Alcohol or Impairment
No participant shall operate a vessel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs during Tournament hours. Violation will result in immediate disqualification.
10. Entry Fees & Refunds
All entry fees are non-refundable unless the Tournament is cancelled in its entirety. No refunds for disqualification, voluntary withdrawal, or failure to attend.
11. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
12. Acknowledgment
I have read this agreement in its entirety, understand its contents, and sign voluntarily. I confirm I am at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into this agreement.
